This list is built on ZIP codes rather than a loose radius. Our data gives Katy six: 77449, 77450, 77491, 77492, 77493 and 77494. Every neighbor was tested twice, first in the coverage file and then by measuring the straight line out from the Katy ZIP, and only towns inside about fifteen miles were kept.
These places differ in kind. Eight are incorporated cities of ordinary size, two are unincorporated communities with no city government, and one is the very large city of Houston. Each is labeled in the table, because the label decides who writes local rules and how an address is usually phrased.
Our coverage reaches just a corner of Houston, so that page lists only the ZIP codes inside range, one of which, 77411, is the Alief area. Sugar Land lies at the outer edge, around 14 miles away. Straight-line miles undercount the real drive on busy roads, so we confirm timing on the call.
